Shore Construction seamlessly took over and completed the remaining works at St Peter’s Medical Centre, Brighton following the insolvency of the previous contractor, ensuring minimal disruption to project delivery and programme.
PROJECT SCOPE
The new Medical Centre replaces an existing Medical Centre for our client Medical Centre Developments Limited. Situated in a city centre location and serving a population with high levels of need, the centre supports a high-demand for mental health and substance misuse services.
To ensure continuity of care provision for the local community, the existing medical centre was required to remain open throughout the project.
Functioning as a GP medical practice, centre for the NHS Foundation Trust and with space for a proposed pharmacy, the new medical centre has four floors from ground through to 3rd floor.
Shore Construction became Main Contractor in November 2023, with the site in enforced closure following insolvency. The project supply chain was significantly impacted by financial loss from the original contractor requiring proactive management and communication.
